Margaret River is famous for many things, the rugged coastlines, powerful surf breaks, stunning white sand beaches, ancient limestone caves, and of course the world-class wineries. Based in Busselton, The Timothee sits right at the entrance of this diverse region and is the perfect homebase to settle into while you spend your days exploring. We’ve listed below our absolute favourite wineries.
LS Merchants
Located just 15 minutes from the resort, Lentedal is a unique, family friendly cellar door. Here you’ll find great wine (special mention to the Tempernillo and Blanc de Blanc) and the friendliest farm animals. Their single vineyard wines have won awards locally and nationally. You can also treat yourself to a wood-fired pizza in their beautiful garden areas after your tasting.
Established in 2007, Flametree is renowned for their award winning Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon. Their cellar door is just an 18 minute drive away. Along with wine tasting you can enjoy a Wine and Chocolate experience where 3 premium wines are paried with handcrafted chocolates from Temper Temper. After your tastings, you can buy a bottle to enjoy on the grounds with a build-your-own picnic or platter.
Wise Wine
Since 2015, LS Merchants believe that wine should be fun, sustainable, delicious and also not taken too seriously. Their grapes are sourced all over the region and they use traditional wine making techniques, innovative methods, and lots of experimentation to ensure their wines are exciting and unique. We loved them so much we use their Chardonnay and Hoi Polloi for our wine packages. Their cellar door is located in Cowaramup, a 30 minute drive from us.
Looking out over the beautiful waters of Eagle Bay, Wise Wines has one of the most breath taking views and wines to match. Wise Wines has earnt a 5 Red Star rating from noted wine critic James Halliday. Their guided wine tasting experience offers 6 wines from their menu, tailored to you. Priced at $15 per person (redeemable on purchases). Their onsite restaurant serves breakfast lunch and desert. Wise is a 30 minute drive from The Timothee.
